TWO ITEMS FROM OUR FABULOUS PTO...
HOW THE SCHOOL CENTS’ PROGRAM WORKS! Program Dates: October 1, 2024 - March 31, 2025
With your help we can raise up to $2,500 for our school by shopping as you normally would at Valley River Center Mall. Submit receipts for ANY STORE at Valley River Center!! Anytime you or anyone you know buy clothes, shoes, get your nails done, play at Round1, see a movie, visit the Children’s Museum, grab a Jamba Juice, visit Game Stop, the Duck Store, etc...you can earn points for our school by submitting the receipts for points. Shopping for Halloween costumes and accessories? Visit the Spirit Halloween Store at Valley River Center and submit your receipts. Like to Shop Online?! Anything purchased online and picked up IN STORE counts! Already Christmas Shopping?? Submit those receipts. Ordering take-out from the VRC restaurant through DoorDash or other 3rd Party Delivery App? That counts too!! The value of the monies spent at the VRC location will be added (just not the 3rd party delivery fees). A School Cents receipt box is available in the front office for us to submit paper receipts on your behalf or send them to Holt with your child in their Monday mailer. Submit receipts online at: https://shoppingpartnership.com/VRC/ OR email any online receipts to Holtelementaryschoolcents@gmail.com and we can submit them for you. Click the School Cents Flyer for October Promos to earn extra points. Stephanie Gibson School Cents Coordinator for Holt
Seeking Donations: Large towels (new or used)
Our amazing janitors have requested some large bath or beach-size towels to help clean up large spills around the school. They are down to their last three, and before we purchase any, we thought some of our families might have old towels lying around that could be donated. If you have some that you would like to part with, please leave them in the front office. -Holt Elementary PTO
School Zone Driving Safety Tips
- Drivers should reacquaint themselves with our local school zones, watch for signs and symbols indicating when a school zone begins and ends, and operate their vehicles accordingly. Remember that the speed limit in all school zones is 20 miles per hour.
- Look for school zone signals and always obey the speed limits.
- Always stop for school buses that are loading or unloading students. Drivers must stop for the flashing bus safety lights when approaching a school bus from either direction when traveling on the same roadway, and they must remain stopped until the bus safety lights are no longer flashing.
- Drivers must also stop for school traffic patrol monitors who assist students through crosswalks.
- Be aware of and watch out for children near schools, bus stops, sidewalks, streets, school parking lots, etc.
- Never pass other vehicles while driving in a school zone.
- Never change lanes while driving in a school zone.
- Drivers are reminded to stay alert and off their phones. No texting and driving—ever! Texting is a significant driving distraction that can lead to serious injury or death.
- Unless licensed to do so, never use handicapped or emergency vehicle lanes or spaces to drop off or pick up students at school.

No Toys/Electronics/Sports Equipment at School
This is a reminder that toys, stuffed animals, sports equipment (footballs, frisbees, soccer balls, etc.), electronics, and other non-school-related items should stay home. Besides being a distraction, they can also become lost, stolen, or damaged, for which the school is not responsible.
Shop the Holt Bolt Store
Want to purchase some Holt Bolt gear? Head on over to the Holt Bolt Store for shirts, hats, hoodies, and more!
No Dogs or Pets On Campus
A reminder that dogs or other animals outside of service animals are not allowed on school grounds between 7:00-5:00 or at school events. See School Board Policy KGB for details.
