Hours of Supervision:

Holt Provides supervision between the hours of 7:25 am and 2:35 pm and during official school events and programs that occur before and after school.  If you are interested in after-school child care or other after-school enrichment opportunities, please see below.

YMCA After School Enrichment Program

What the YMCA has to offer you and your student:

  • After-school care: grades K-5 (until 6 pm)

Through a fee-based program, all Holt students have the opportunity to take part in after-school child care.  Kids arrive at our programs with energetic staff and fun activities. Crazy holidays, character development, movement, and healthy choices are the focuses of our school-age program.

After-School Singers at Holt

Sonare Singers is an after-school music program focused on teaching music through singing. We meet every week when school is open and provide a safe and fun space for students to enjoy learning and exploring music.

Students will be introduced to core musical concepts, fundamentals of singing technique, a wide variety of musical styles and genres, music history, and music theory. Parents will receive regular email updates about what we’ve been learning, performance opportunities, and more resources for Enrollment encouraging your student’s love of music!

DATE/TIME: Tuesdays, 2:30-3:30 pm, March 5 – June 11
TUITION:  $15 / week (flexible payment plans available)

Chess Club at Holt 

We are pleased to announce that chess club will be offered at Holt on Thursdays, 2:30 to 3:30 PM, in (ROOM A02), starting September 21st.  The instructor will be Jerry Ramey, who has 30 years of experience teaching chess to Eugene kids.  Beginners are welcome!  More experienced players are also welcome!  About equal time will be given to lessons and to play games.  Students can try the club out before paying the tuition, but please fill out the registration form on the Southside Chess Website.

 

 

Eugene-Springfield Youth Orchestra

Beginning Strings – for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders!

Classes start on Oct. 16th so sign up right away – first come, first served!

Eugene-Springfield Youth Orchestras (ESYO) offers your children a chance to learn the violin, viola, or cello – and they provide the instrument to take home! Accessible, affordable classes are held right here at Holt. Classes meet twice a week after school, Monday and Wednesday from 2:30-3:15 in the music room.

CLICK HERE TO REGISTER! Scholarships are available for program fees and instrument rentals for any family that qualifies for federal assistance. We also have scholarships for private lessons!

There are so many benefits! Students gain self-confidence, discipline, cooperation, and the sheer joy of making music together. They perform for their schools, and twice a year, the strings students from different classes come together to play their concerts and show what they’ve learned to family and friends.
