NEWS FROM HOLT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

There is no school on Friday, Jan. 30, and Monday, Feb. 2, for Report Card Grading Day and Transition Day. Complete calendar dates can be found on the Holt Family Calendar and the Eugene School District 4J Calendar.



Join us for a Cafe Yumm fundraiser on February 2 from 4:00–7:00 PM at 130 Cafe Yumm, Oakway Center—dine-in or take-out, and don’t forget to mention Holt Elementary PTO (or add it in online order notes) so the PTO receives 20% of your purchase.



CORRECTED INFO: Mark your calendars for the 5th-grade Outdoor School Night!  It will be this Thursday at 6:00. Adults will meet in the library with school and camp staff to learn about the program and have all your questions answered. Students will meet in the cafeteria for an enrichment activity with Holt Title 1 Staff. Click the above flyer for details. Outdoor School this year will be April 29 - May 1.



Call before 1:00 if you need a message delivered to your student before the end of the school day. If you call after 1:00, your message may not be delivered.



Beginning February 11, our Student Inclusion Team will meet monthly on the second Wednesday from 7:55–8:25 AM to discuss how to make our school inclusive of all kids at our school. Students may grab breakfast and arrive early, and attendance will be taken and sent to the office, so you don't need to worry about being marked tardy. 

⚡️ Behavior Bolt ⚡️ We are focusing on kindness this month. As a family, start a Kindness Jar. Decorate a container and put notes in each day of how someone was kind to you. Once the jar is full, have some fun family time that celebrates your kindness efforts. Popcorn party, movie, scavenger hunt, etc. The world can always use more kindness.

REPEATS & REMINDERS

Do you have unwanted, unused, or broken electronics in your home, but don’t know what to do with them? Donate in the bin in front of the Holt office  to help Holt win the 2026 Electronics Recycling Competition! Donate now through April.



Accidents happen. The office could use donations of small boys' and girls' pants and underwear. Anything from size 6-10



The Holt Bolt is coming soon! Help us get Holt Bolt jog-a-thon shirts for our school by becoming a shirt sponsor! This is a great way to advertise your business and to help out some pretty great kids. Space is limited, and levels are on a first-come, first-served basis. Help Tackle Hunger in our Community! The big game is Feb. 8, and the Food Drive Kickoff starts Monday, Jan. 26th. Vote for your favorite team by placing a can of food in their bin!



Toys, stuffed animals, footballs, Pokémon cards, etc., should stay at home and not come to school. They are a distraction, can get lost, damaged, or stolen, and the school is not responsible for personal items brought to school.

Join us for the Sixth Annual Eugene Youth Math Festival on Saturday, February 28, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. at McArthur Court (University of Oregon, 1601 University St.), where kids ages 5–14 (accompanied by an adult) can explore more than 50 hands-on math stations—free, no registration needed, with Spanish-speaking UO students available to assist.

Please review the submission instructions in the packet before registering for the Bring Recycling Student Product Design Challenge. Each student or student team receives $50 Challenge Cash, redeemable for used building materials in stock at the Planet Improvement Center. Challenge entries are submitted digitally by the submission deadline. Submissions will be considered for prizes using our Judging Rubric and will compete with other submissions in their respective grade levels.

NOTICIAS DE LA ESCUELA PRIMARIA HOLT

No hay clases el viernes 30 de enero ni el lunes 2 de febrero, debido al Día de Calificación y el Día de Transición. Las fechas completas del calendario se pueden encontrar en elCalendario Familiar Holty elCalendario del Distrito Escolar 4J de Eugene .



Únase a nosotros para una recaudación de fondos en Cafe Yumm el 2 de febrero de 4:00 a 7:00 p. m. en 130 Cafe Yumm, Oakway Center, para comer en el lugar o para llevar, y no olvide mencionar Holt Elementary PTO (o agregarlo en las notas del pedido en línea) para que el PTO reciba el 20% de su compra.



INFORMACIÓN CORREGIDA: ¡Anoten en sus calendarios la Noche de la Escuela al Aire Libre para 5.º grado!  Será este jueves a las 6:00. Los adultos se reunirán en la biblioteca con el personal de la escuela y del campamento para conocer el programa y obtener respuestas a todas sus preguntas. Los estudiantes se reunirán en la cafetería para realizar una actividad de enriquecimiento con el personal de Holt Title 1. Hagan clic en el folleto de arriba para obtener más detalles. La Escuela al Aire Libre de este año será del 29 de abril al 1 de mayo. 



Llame antes de la 1:00 p. m. si necesita que su estudiante reciba un mensaje antes del final del día escolar. Si llama después de la 1:00 p. m., es posible que no se entregue.



A partir del 11 de febrero, nuestro Equipo de Inclusión Estudiantil se reunirá mensualmente el segundo miércoles de 7:55 a 8:25 a. m. para hablar sobre cómo lograr que nuestra escuela sea inclusiva para todos los niños. Los estudiantes pueden desayunar y llegar temprano, y se les tomará lista y se enviará a la secretaría, así que no tienen que preocuparse por llegar tarde.

Este mes nos centramos en la amabilidad. Como familia, cread un tarro de la amabilidad. Decorad un recipiente y cada día meted en él notas sobre cómo alguien ha sido amable con vosotros. Cuando el tarro esté lleno, disfrutad de un rato divertido en familia para celebrar vuestros esfuerzos por ser amables. Podéis hacer una fiesta con palomitas, ver una película, organizar una búsqueda del tesoro, etc. El mundo siempre necesita más amabilidad.

DEL DISTRITO ESCOLAR 4J DE EUGENE Y LA COMUNIDAD
