Parking Lot Reminders
The parking lot is for families who want to walk their child into the building during arrival or who wish to meet their child at the end of the day at dismissal. Please note the following rules for the parking lot:
• ONLY cross using the crosswalk. Students and families should never cut across the driveway.
• Before using the crosswalk, students and adults must stop and look for cars.
Curbside Pausing Parking Reminders
In the mornings, students may be dropped off along the curb. At the end of the day, drivers can pause park along the curb to pick up their students when they come out at dismissal. Please note the following rules for pause parking:
• Drivers must remain in their cars at all times.
• Drivers should pull forward as space becomes available.
• Drivers should NOT stop in marked crosswalk areas.
• When getting in or out of a car, students must use the door on the sidewalk side. Students should never get in or out of a car on the driver’s side. It’s unsafe for the student and it slows traffic.
Drivers must remember to ALWAYS yield at the painted crosswalks and sidewalks.
Playground Parent Volunteers
4J Schools are now allowed to have parent volunteer for outdoor actives and Holt would welcome parent volunteers for our 2nd and 3rd grade recess Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday from 11:30-12:00. If you are interested please contact principal Allan Chinn at chinn@4j.lane.edu or (541) 790-6100.

Bicycle Safety Education Classes
The City of Eugene Recreation program is holding free/low cost bike camps for kids ages 8 and up, including a Bike Safety class on April 26-30th for our BIPOC students – see attached flyer.

EEF Annual Gala
You are cordially invited to the EEF Annual (virtual) Gala- “A Brighter Future” on April 27th, 2021 5:30-6:30 PM. Led by Executive Director Dana Fleming and Emcee Celeste Edman, they will also be joined by Interim Superintendent Cydney Vandercar and some other very special surprise guests! EEF is so excited to share the stories of hardworking teachers, students, and staff, and how we have a brighter future because of our incredible community. It is more important than ever that we have your help making this event a success: the money raised from our annual gala is used to fund grants to teachers in schools and programs across 4J. EEF wants to grant as many applications as possible next year so that all students will have a brighter future. Many hands make light work, so please tell all of your friends to come on the 27th as well!
Tickets are FREE, but you must register to join for the evening. You can do so at: tinyurl.com/2021eefgala. You can even order boxed dinners, appetizers, desserts, and gifts to pick up on April 26th at the Campbell Center and enjoy while you watch. There is a cutoff date of April 20th for ordering food and beverages, so please get those orders in soon.

Breakfast and lunch menus are available on the 4J Menu Website. Make sure you filter to Holt Elementary. Click “Seamless Summer Lunch” for the hybrid in-person lunch and click “Lunch” for the meals provided out of the cafeteria for off-site students.

Recordatorios de Estacionamiento
El estacionamiento es para las familias que quieren caminar a su hijo en el edificio durante la llegada o que desean conocer a su hijo al final del día en el despido. Tenga en cuenta las siguientes reglas para el estacionamiento:
• SÓLO cruzar usando el paso de peatones. Los estudiantes y las familias nunca deben cruzar la entrada.
• Antes de usar el paso de peatones, estudiantes y adultos deben detenerse y buscar autos.
Paradas en la acera Recordatorios de estacionamiento
Por las mañanas, los estudiantes pueden ser dejados a lo largo de la acera. Al final del día, los conductores pueden detenerse a lo largo de la acera para recoger a sus estudiantes cuando salen en el despido. Tenga en cuenta las siguientes reglas para pausar el estacionamiento:
• Los conductores deben permanecer en sus coches en todo momento.
• Los conductores deben avanzar a medida que se disponga de espacio.
• Los conductores NO deben detenerse en zonas marcadas de paso de peatones.
Al entrar o salir de un coche, los estudiantes deben usar la puerta en el lado de la acera. Los estudiantes nunca deben entrar o salir de un coche del lado del conductor. Es inseguro para el estudiante y ralentiza el tráfico.
Los conductores deben recordar SIEMPRE ceder en los cruces peatonales y aceras pintadas.
Voluntarios de padres
4J Las escuelas ahora pueden tener padres voluntarios para actividades al aire libre y Holt daría la bienvenida a padres voluntarios para nuestro segundo y tercer grado receso lunes/ martes y jueves/ viernes de 11:30-12:00.
